Jonathan McAndrews hits 1,000 points

Providence Christian Academy's First Player to hit 1,000 career points

Congratulations to Senior Captain Jonathan McAndrews of the Providence Christian Academy Varsity Basketball Team. The Providence Griffins played in Elkton last night against the Tri-State Crusaders.

Going into the game, Jonathan had recorded 996 points playing on the Providence Team. Four more points and he would break the 1,000 point mark that few rarely come close to.

Early in the first quarter McAndrews hits a 3-pointer and the crowd goes wild. The stands were full of Providence Families there to witness the first 1,000 pointer shooter in school history. At 999 the crowd would have to wait about 5 minutes before McAndrews would make history and get 2 more points that would send him over 1000.
Tri-State Christian had already discussed stopping the game at 1,000 points to give the Senior a chance to celebrate with his team and fans.

McAndrews got the game ball and after a few minutes of celebration, the Senior Captain returned to the court to resume the game.
